The caravan drivers have traveled this Saturday the roads of the island to finish with a concentration in the esplanade of the Arrecife fairground, where they have once again demanded that spaces be enabled for this activity.

The protest had been convened by the Caravan Association El Burgao and the Recreational Cultural Association of Motorhomes for Lanzarote, who criticize that the Papagayo campsite has been closed for more than a year and that there are no other authorized areas on the island.

"Throughout the Canary Islands, all campsites and areas are operating normally, with Lanzarote being the only island without areas and with the campsite closed, and probably one of the few in Spain," these two groups point out, claiming to have 1,100 members between them.

Regarding the Papagayo campsite, Councilor Paula Corujo announced that it would reopen in July, although those affected question that they still do not have a date.
