Canary Islands registers six deaths and 1,161 new positives in the last three days

The Cumulative Incidence at 14 days increases to 887.72 cases per 100,000 inhabitants

Canary Islands has registered six deaths since Tuesday, five in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife, so deaths have decreased compared to the previous record, but remain at very high figures, as reported by the Ministry of Health.

Specifically, the deceased, aged between 62 and 90 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital.

Regarding the new positives, these are experiencing a slight decrease, at least in the only age group that continues to be tested by the Ministry of Health. In total, only in those over 60, 1,161 new positives have been detected since Tuesday.

The Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days increases to 887.72 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days to 446.79, which sets the total accumulated cases of coronavirus in the 62,459 people in the Canary Islands.

Currently, in the archipelago there are 225 people admitted to hospital with coronavirus, of which 15 are in the ICU and the rest, 210, on the ward.
