The Cultural Association of Deaf People of Lanzarote (Asculsorlanz) has produced a video to demand equality between men and women and to denounce the "double discrimination" suffered by women with this disability.
"Are we supposed to accept and settle for inequality? No... Equality!" demand the women who star in this video, which has been produced in Sign Language (LSE) but can be seen with subtitles.
"No to gender violence", "Enough of being silent and submissive" and "We want to be free" are other messages they send in this recording, in which women from the island's deaf community have participated, as well as Sign Language interpreters and other association workers.
From Asculsorlanz they call on women to be "united" and "strong" in the fight for equality. "By joining our forces we will achieve a fairer, more honest and freer world", they have pointed out from the association on social networks.
