The Arrecife City Council has placed fourteen mailboxes distributed throughout the different neighborhoods of the capital, with the aim that children can maintain their illusion and deposit, as every year, their letter to the Three Wise Men. The location will be outside the businesses, in order to also boost commercial establishments during these dates.
In addition, the mailboxes will announce a surprise for the little ones of Arrecife, which will take place on January 5. Children who want to discover it should be attentive on the indicated date and in the places where the mailboxes are placed.
The little ones will also have the opportunity to see Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar. It will be on January 5 at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture, in the capital. The hours will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at which time the children will be able to deliver their letters in person.
The mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, stressed that "we must continue to maintain the illusion of the children and that the pandemic cannot take away our dreams of making the little ones happy on this special day when they see the Three Wise Men up close. Even with the restrictions for health reasons, the capital's mayor confirmed that Gaspar, Melchor and Baltasar will visit all the neighborhoods of Arrecife on January 5, in this different visit to Lanzarote."
Ástrid Pérez hopes that "in a year the massive parade through Arrecife can be held again, which was already an organizational success last year. This 2021, the Three Wise Men bring thousands of vaccines to stop COVID-19 along with the exciting gifts that they will distribute to all the homes in Arrecife and the island."
The first deputy mayor and Councilor for Festivities, José Alfredo Mendoza, highlighted the "importance of maintaining the illusion of the little ones, who every year want to deliver their letter to the Three Wise Men. We are organizing something so that they continue to maintain a smile in these difficult times," he stressed.
