With the celebration of "Palm Sunday", the parish of San Ginés in Arrecife begins the events scheduled for this Holy Week.

At 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, with the three naves of the temple packed with parishioners and those around the Plaza de Las Palmas, the celebration of the Eucharist began, presided over by the parish priest, Juan Carlos Medina. On this occasion, he had the participation of the team of readers. For the songs, there was a group of men and women who form the Parish Choir, led by the religion teacher José Umpierrez, who was also joined by the assembly, highlighting their voices at the moment of the blessing of the olive branches and palms.

After the Eucharist, the ringing of the bells announced the departure of the image with the "Lord of the Little Donkey", which was received with songs and applause. All the parishioners carried the branches and palms high and so was the processional route led by the parish priest who was in charge of directing the songs that were interpreted throughout the route. Procession that was made through the main streets of the city near the church.
