Adislan workers have started this Monday the strike and also the rallies that they will carry out daily in front of the Cabildo, demanding a solution to the repeated delays in the payment of their salaries. And it is that the centers in which they work depend on the Cabildo, although for years the association has managed them.
For its part, Adislan affirms that the money they receive per place is insufficient and they have been asking for it to be increased for some time, while they also oppose the tender announced by the Cabildo to tender the management of these centers.
After the concentration of workers on this first day of stoppages, the councilor of the Popular Group in the Cabildo, Jacobo Medina, has once again demanded that the government of Dolores Corujo take "urgent actions to end the suffering that the conflict that has been generated in the dependency care service on the island is causing to users, families and workers."
For the popular, "the situation has been deteriorating flagrantly in recent months, making it practically unsustainable for families, obviously concerned about the consequences that the conflict could cause in the provision of the service."
Councilor Jacobo Medina has reiterated "the need for the Corujo government to adopt as soon as possible the formula of the social agreement launched by the Government of the Canary Islands precisely for this type of services that are provided from associations in the field of the third sector", as a way to regularize that management that has remained for years in the hands of Adislan.
“It is incomprehensible that a mechanism that is being used by other councils to provide services cannot be used in Lanzarote due to the whim of the socialist Dolores Corujo, who prefers to tender the dependency through the ordinary formula”, denounces Medina, who highlights that "since it was announced that the service was going to be tendered, absolutely nothing has been advanced".
“The truth is that precious time has been lost that continues to advance against the interests of the service only due to Mrs. Corujo's determination not to give in to the opposition's requests”, insists the PP councilor.
