The complaint about the altercations on the buses that cover the Arrecife-La Santa line has led to measures being taken by the Cabildo of Lanzarote. After the fight between a man and three migrant minors, the Island Council has promoted an alternative with the competent entity to avoid conflicts in public transport.
The Councilor for Social Welfare of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Marci Acuña, has revealed to La Voz the measures that have been agreed upon since last Friday. "We have spoken with the entity to start transferring the minors in private vehicles," he revealed this Tuesday to the newspaper. "The minors will not use public transport for a while for their safety," added the councilor.
In addition, he has advanced some of the alternatives that have been established for when the minors have to move by bus again. "A monitor will go with them and accompany them," he assured.
In the event that the decisions "are not effective", Acuña stressed, "we will meet again with the entity to take new measures", he concluded.
