A resident of the municipality of Tías, on behalf of his family, recently donated 1,000 euros to the Social Services Area for purchases destined for the Food Bank in the municipality. This was made public this Tuesday by the City Council in a statement, in which the mayor, Pancho Hernández, and the deputy mayor and councilor for Social Welfare, Jerónimo Robayna, thank this solidarity gesture.
The resident has expressly requested that no data of his identity be given, since he wanted it to be an anonymous donation.
The donation has allowed the Tías Food Bank to deliver basic material to several families residing in this municipality, who due to the current situation of crisis and unemployment have difficulties in acquiring food and hygiene products.
Increase in the item for Social Services
From the City Council they emphasize that the institution also "has reinforced its budget contributions for the acquisition of food for families, as well as the increase in the Social Services item." This distribution is carried out directly by the staff attached to the Department of Social Services of Tías.
"This small but great anonymous gesture of this family from Tías, with this donation, joins that of many residents who in recent months also contribute food and toiletries for several families who have many needs," they emphasize from the Consistory.
