A new boat intercepted in waters near Lanzarote

There are 39 people of sub-Saharan origin on board, including five women

Maritime Rescue has intercepted a new boat in waters near Lanzarote, specifically 45 kilometers northeast of Arrecife, according to the Emergency Consortium.

There were 39 people of sub-Saharan origin on board, including five women. All of sub-Saharan origin and are in apparent good health.

They have been transferred by the Salvamar to Puerto Naos in Arrecife where it arrived at around 4:20 p.m. According to a Maritime Rescue spokesman to EFE, the boat has been located thanks to a satellite mobile phone carried by one of its occupants, who provided its position.

This is the eighth boat that has arrived in Lanzarote in the last 24 hours.
