The Yaiza City Council and Ediciones Remotan have invited the population of Lanzarote to attend the presentation of the book The Island of Volcanoes, by geologist specialized in geology didactics and former Oxford professor Roger Trend. In the aforementioned research, the author elaborates a guide aimed at the general public to understand the formation of Lanzarote.

The literary and scientific meeting will be this Saturday, December 9, at 12:00 noon, at the Yaiza House of Culture with the participation of the author, Roger Trend, and the panelists Juan Carlos Carracedo, volcanologist and author of the book's prologue, the editor Mario Ferrer, and the journalist and writer Larry Yaskiel, who will also act as translator.

Óscar Noda, mayor of Yaiza, highlights that "it is a rigorous work of many years of research that we have the privilege of discovering in Yaiza thanks to the collaboration we maintain with Ediciones Remotas, with whom we have made fruitful cultural dissemination agreements."

The Island of Volcanoes is illustrated with photographs by Rubén Acosta and Christian Hansen and features a prologue by the prestigious volcanologists Juan Carlos Carracedo and Valentín R. Troll. The author, Roger Trend, turns geology into a field as didactic as it is poetic. Ediciones Remotas points out that "it is a work that combines simplicity and rigor to explain a landscape that attracts both the European Space Agency and NASA, as well as millions of tourists every year.
