A new boat has been rescued this Wednesday in waters near Lanzarote, according to the Security and Emergency Consortium.

The inflatable boat in which 66 people were traveling has been intercepted 36 nautical miles east of the island. The Salvamar has transferred the migrants to Puerto Naos in Arrecife, where they have been cared for by the Red Cross. One of the occupants of the boat has been transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital for different pathologies.

This is the fifth boat to arrive in Lanzarote in the last 24 hours. As La Voz published, this Tuesday another four precarious boats were rescued heading to the island, after a month without any arrivals.
