A Binter company plane was forced to abort its landing this past Saturday, February 28, at César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport due to a strong gust of wind that momentarily compromised the approach maneuver.

The day was marked by the pre-alert for wind in Lanzarote, with adverse weather conditions in different parts of the island. At the airport itself, gusts were recorded that reached 87 kilometers per hour, complicating air operations.

The incident occurred when flight NT556, coming from Gran Canaria and operated with an ATR 72-600 with registration EC-NGG, was preparing to land. In the final moment of the approach, an intense lateral gust destabilized the aircraft, forcing the pilots to execute a rejected approach maneuver, technically known as “toga” (Take Off/Go Around).

The spectacular maneuver was captured by the company Lanzarote Webcam, which disseminated the images through its social networks. In their publication, they highlighted the complexity of the moment and the professionalism of the crew: “It is truly impressive to see how the pilots resolved the incident,” they pointed out.

After regaining altitude and stabilizing the aircraft, the plane made a second landing attempt that was completed without incident. No personal injuries or material damages were reported.

From Lanzarote Webcam they explained that they decided to share the compilation of images because, without a doubt, the skill of the pilots was essential to guarantee the safety of the passengers and the aircraft. The performance also left an impeccable maneuver that has been widely praised on social media.

“Congratulations and a big round of applause for the entire crew!”, they concluded in their message, recognizing the professionalism demonstrated in a situation of maximum demand.
