Dozens of people walked last Sunday along the promenade of the tourist town of Playa Blanca, between Faro Pechiguera and Marina Rubicón, to support with their participation in the Wine Walk Playa Blanca the social mission that the Children with Cancer Foundation Pequeño Valiente develops in Lanzarote and the Canary Islands, thus giving greater visibility to the work that this entity carries out in caring for children and families affected by childhood cancer, and at the same time materializing a donation of 2,000 euros that represents the solidarity of the people who signed up for the sports day.
The City Council, presided over by Óscar Noda, a collaborating institution of the activity, publicly congratulates "all the volunteers involved in the organization for their altruistic work, especially thanking the large group of young people and adults participants and establishments of Playa Blanca that sponsored the Wine Walk 2024 to contribute to plausible solidarity purposes".
Oasis Marina Bay, Restaurante Cofradía de Playa Blanca, Finchy Fitness, Diversión, The Old Mild, Soho and Bar Arena supported the cause selflessly. "The incidence of childhood cancer is growing in our society, so Pequeño Valiente's work of social and psychological care, leisure and free time activities and family respite, among other programs that the entity develops helping families in the Islands, is always appreciated," notes the mayor of Yaiza.
The Councilor for Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, describes Sunday's meeting in Playa Blanca as "a solidarity and fraternization activity that filled our maritime avenue with joy, a blue tide that happily traveled the promenade from Faro Pechiguera to Marina Rubicón, making stops at the restaurants that supported the initiative. Sport unites and has always been present in solidarity events." In addition to the registration, the participants donated toys, diapers and basic necessities that will be distributed among vulnerable families.
