The fire that burned nine buses and two vans in the Lanzarote Bus warehouse in Arrecife will not affect the passenger transport service, according to what the transport counselor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Migue Ángel Jiménez, has confirmed to EFE.
The burned buses belong to the company Lanzarote Bus, which provides the regular service through Intecity Bus, but were intended for the discretionary passenger service, for tourist transport, which is another of the business group's divisions.
According to Jiménez, the damage could have been greater if the fire had spread to another warehouse adjacent where there were new buses, even one that had not yet entered service.
The counselor highlights that the rapid intervention of the firefighters of the island emergency Consortium prevented the fire from spreading and affecting more vehicles.
