The well-known environmental activist and resident of La Graciosa, Ginés Díaz, captured this Tuesday a spectacular moment for lovers of the sea and its species. He managed to capture the moment when a humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) was making some jumps to the surface in waters between La Graciosa and the islet of Alegranza, in the Chinijo Archipelago.
The neighbor from La Graciosa, located on his boat 'Girasolito', photographed the impressive movements of that cetacean. An image that reveals the great seabed that hides the Isla Graciosa Marine Reserve and the Northern Islets of Lanzarote, the largest in Europe with an area of 70,700 hectares.
With the encounter between the neighbor and the cetacean, it is confirmed that the seabed of the Chinijo Archipelago harbors a rich natural and historical heritage.
