The National Police of Arrecife, through the Local Private Security Unit and with the participation of the Armament and Shooting instructor from the Police Station, gave last January 22 at the Integrated Vocational Training Center “CIFP Zonzamas”, a training talk aimed at students of 1st and 2nd year of the Intermediate Level Training Cycle in Security.
A total of 30 students, accompanied by four teachers from the cycle, attended this informative session in which the functions of Security Guards and Private Escorts were addressed, the different professional qualifications, as well as the necessary and close collaboration existing between Private Security and the State Security Forces and Corps.
During the session, the specialists offered guidance on the possible career opportunities in the sector, including general information on the selective processes for access to the National Police.
Likewise, through the use of audiovisual material and the exhibition of real weaponry material —used exclusively for didactic purposes—, attendees were able to learn in detail about the different armed services performed by Security Guards.
The activity developed in a dynamic and participatory environment, concluding with the screening of an explanatory video and an open round of questions in which students and teachers could resolve their doubts.
The outcome of the day was very positive, both due to the involvement shown by the students and the satisfaction expressed by the teaching staff. Both institutions have agreed on the convenience of consolidating this initiative on an annual basis, thus strengthening institutional cooperation and contributing to motivating and guiding future professionals in the security sector.
