Imagine working or walking down the street and people stopping you to ask for a photo or ask if you are a certain celebrity. Well, this is what happens to the Lanzarote native Marcos Hernández, the clone of the Canarian singer Quevedo. Such is the resemblance that he has created a profile on the social network TikTok under the user @marquivedo, a wordplay of Marcos and Quevedo. In it, he uploads videos with audios of the singer's songs and where some accumulate up to more than 60,000 views.
His great resemblance to the artist is evident and wherever he goes, people often confuse him with him. "At first, I was quite surprised, since many people had told me about the resemblance, but I didn't think it was that much", he assures La Voz.
Last summer, a person who was on vacation in Lanzarote published a video where they recorded Marcos Hernández while he was working as a waiter. In the video, which accumulates almost half a million views, one can read: "Quevedo as a waiter in a restaurant in Lanzarote." "The video seemed very funny to me and I didn't expect it to have the repercussion it had at all," recognizes the Lanzarote native.

Hernández declares himself a staunch fan of Quevedo since 2022 and considers him one of his favorite singers. "As of today I listen to all his songs daily," he says.
Regarding his resemblance, he confesses that about three years ago, many people commented on the great resemblance he has to the singer. "After Quevedo's physical change it was already exaggerated, many people at parties stopped me to ask for a photo and even ask me if we were family", he points out. "As time has gone by, the 'you're just like Quevedo' has really taken off", he continues.
The Lanzarote native himself admits that years ago he didn't see so much resemblance, but "right now yes it's true that I see it quite a lot in many facial features, I also think it's due to people's comments that can make me notice it more".
Photos at parties
At some parties and festivals, Marcos Hernández says that many times "they usually stop me quite a bit to ask me for a photo or comment on the resemblance I have with him, also in my daily life they tell me a lot". However, he believes that they don't actually confuse him with the artist, but "it is true that on some occasions they have told me 'I thought you were Quevedo', and that surprises me quite a bit".
Furthermore, the Lanzarotean is unaware if Quevedo has seen his videos published on TikTok or not, despite usually mentioning him in them, and points out that he is sure that "one day he will watch one".
Likewise, he points out that it was his friends who motivated him to start uploading these videos, "since they have seen for many years this impact I have with the resemblance to Quevedo, especially Iván, Bene and Ana".
Despite Quevedo recording a music video last week in Lanzarote, the Lanzarote native could not attend. "I tried to contact members of his team and had no response, but I would have loved to participate and I think it would have been an incredible experience", he concludes.
