The air quality in Lanzarote is "extremely unfavorable" throughout Monday morning due to the presence of particles less than ten micrometers and "very unfavorable" in parts of Arrecife and Costa Teguise. The island is on yellow alert for the presence of suspended dust and on pre-alert for the same reason.

According to air quality index data released by the Canary Islands Government, these parameters affect the public health of the population in general, creating emergency conditions, regardless of whether they may affect at-risk groups more

During the early morning hours, the Arrecife city center station registers the worst conditions. However, other nearby stations such as the Sports City or Las Caletas also have an air quality index affected by these same particles.

Given this situation, the Canary Islands Executive recommends that at-risk groups, sensitive individuals, and also the general population reduce all outdoor activities, move them indoors, or postpone them until air quality is good or reasonably good.

Furthermore, for the sensitive population, it indicates that medical treatment plans should be meticulously followed, and if the situation worsens, it urges the population to go to the emergency room. In the case of the general population, it indicates that they should protect themselves adequately
