Dolphins, turtles, or whales may be some of the animals that appear stranded on the coast or are found at sea with injuries, disorientation, or entangled in plastics or other objects. Upon finding a cetacean, it should never be returned to the sea, as it can have negative consequences such as becoming stranded again. Marine turtles should also not be attempted to be put back into the sea, as they may have internal injuries and it could cause the animal's death within a few days. That is why, in any case, one must wait for the arrival of professionals.
In these situations, sometimes the best help is not to intervene in the rescue and to call the emergency numbers. Rapid communication and follow-up by professionals improve the chances of the animal's recovery.
