The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium has sent four firefighters, two 4x4 vehicles and rescue equipment to Valencia to collaborate in Valencia after the damage caused by the DANA. The firefighters will travel this Sunday night on a flight chartered by the company Binter, of an extraordinary nature, which will connect Gran Canaria and Valencia, while the vehicles will leave on Tuesday by sea.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, thanked the firefighters of Lanzarote "for their willingness to collaborate in this catastrophe." "Last week we made ourselves fully available to the Valencian Community to help in everything possible, so we expedited the procedure to reach the affected areas as soon as possible," he said.

The Councilor and President of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, participated this Sunday in a coordination meeting with the Councilor of Territorial Policy of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuel Miranda, the consortia of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, and representatives of the CECOES and Emergency Services.

"Since this Saturday we were on alert and gathering material to send to Valencia", Aparicio pointed out, who also added that "in this type of emergency it is our duty to lend a hand and help in everything we can to the colleagues who work in the rescue work."

Specifically, the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium sends two 4x4 vehicles with two trailers and several pallets with four motor pumps, two electric pumps and two floating motor pumps to Valencia to try to lower the water levels in the most affected areas.
