Two wild ducks have been spotted this Thursday in the area of Playa de la Cantería, in Órzola. As seen in the recording, they could be two specimens of Ruddy Shelduck (Tadorna ferruginea).
These birds are probably passing through to rest and continue their migratory route, as can be seen in the images, both ducks were resting in a puddle and drinking from it.
Lanzarote and the Canary Islands in general are one of the stops made by many migratory birds that cross the planet along the African coast, so from time to time we can enjoy scenes like these that remind us of the great biodiversity of the archipelago.
