Criminal offenses in Lanzarote have increased by 60 crimes between the months of January and June of this 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year, which represents an increase of 2%. The total figure so far stands at 3,751 crimes, compared to the 3,683 cases registered in the first six months of 2024, according to data published by the Lanzarote Data Center.
Regarding conventional crime, in the first half of this year, a total of 3,325 cases have been registered in Lanzarote, while in the same period of 2024, the figure reached 3,149, which represents an increase of 5.7%.
So far, the data reflects that there has been one intentional crime in the first three months of the year, while in 2024 there were none. For its part, so far, there have been three attempted homicides on the island, a figure that reached five in all of 2024.
As for serious and less serious crimes, so far in 2025, 75 have been registered, compared to 71 in the same period of the previous year. For its part, drug trafficking crimes so far reflect 29 cases, 23.7% less if we compare it with the previous year when 39 cases were registered.
On the other hand, robberies with violence and intimidation amount to 41 so far this year, which represents a decrease compared to the same period of 2024 when there were 47 cases. Likewise, between January and June there were 70 burglaries in homes and establishments, while in those months of 2024 there were 85.
In addition, until June, cybercrimes have reached 426 cases, unlike the 534 that were registered in the same period of 2024.
Sexual offenses
From January to June 2025, Lanzarote has registered a decrease in crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity with a total of 35, while in the same months of 2024 the figure was 77, according to the Lanzarote Data Center.
Regarding sexual assaults with penetration, nine crimes have been registered so far this year, while in the first half of last year 25 were reached.
Data by municipalities
The municipality of Arrecife has registered 1,299 criminal offenses until this month of June, 7.7% less if we compare it with the same period of 2024 when there were a total of 3,683 crimes.
As for Teguise, during the first six months of 2025 the municipality reaches 395 criminal offenses, unlike the 391 of 2024, which represents an increase of 1%.
Finally, the municipality of Tías has registered 759 criminal offenses until this month of June, while in 2024 it reached 658, which reflects an increase of 21.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
