The Arrecife City Council has once again prohibited swimming at El Reducto beach due to fecal contamination, as La Voz has learned.
This prohibition comes just one day after the placement of sun loungers and umbrellas by the concessionaire company.
As it will be recalled, Lanzarote's capital's most visited beach already maintained the prohibition of swimming in its waters for almost six months due to contamination between the end of 2025 and the beginning of this year. Furthermore, it was also closed for several more days in July.
The Arrecife council has ordered the hoisting of the red flag and has placed a sign in several languages after detecting this new contamination, the origin of which is currently unknown.
