The future of the People's Party of Lanzarote will be decided this Wednesday afternoon in the extraordinary meeting that the Governing Board and the Regional Executive Committee of the party will hold in Gran Canaria. As La Voz has exclusively learned, it will be the general secretary of the PP of Lanzarote, María Jesús Tovar, who will be in charge of the management committee that must decide the future of the conservative political party on the island.
Internal party sources have revealed that Tovar will have total autonomy to guide the party and that she may remain in the position for at least a year or a year and a half.
For the moment, the decision to grant María Jesús Tovar the transitional leadership of the party will be made official this afternoon. In addition, this same Wednesday, the members of the management committee who will accompany the vice-president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote on this journey will also be chosen. For the moment, the names of the insular director of Planning of the Cabildo of Lanzarote Claudio Doreste and the counselor of the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote, Francisco Aparicio, are on the table.
