The Yaiza City Council ordered the temporary closure of the small beach of Playa Blanca on Tuesday morning due to wastewater discharges.
The Administration asks residents and visitors to respect the red flag and use other southern beaches while the results of the Public Health laboratory samples indicate that the water is suitable for bathing.
The Institution informed the Lanzarote Water Consortium of the breakdown detected at the pumping station near the beach so that the public entity can act and put an end to the incident. The administration will notify in due course when the beach is open to the public again.
