The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium announces the closure of access to ports and beaches between the municipalities of Haría and Tías during the early hours of this Wednesday.

This decision is made after the incidents suffered in some towns on the island during high tide, and given the forecasts of the next high tide that will be around three in the morning.

“The forecasts foresee a coefficient greater than 100 in the next high tide, which added to the strong wind and coastal phenomena could generate a dangerous situation in some points of the island's coast”, explains the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio.

The Security and Emergency Consortium asks citizens to refrain from going, as far as possible, to promenades and avenues near the coast in the early hours of this Wednesday.

On the other hand, the Consortium has offered its collaboration to the island's town councils that lack personnel to execute the closure of access to ports and beaches. “We extend a hand to those Consistories that need help to guarantee safety on our coasts”, concluded Aparicio.
