About thirty doctors from José Molina Orosa Hospital have demonstrated on Wednesday morning in front of the center's doors to demand an improvement in their labor rights. Specifically, the professionals have gathered to protest for the proposal of the Ministry of Health for the reform of the Framework Statute.

The professionals have demonstrated with the slogan Without doctors there is no healthcare and with signs in hand with phrases like "They are not privileges, they are rights" or "It's not vocation, it's exploitation".

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports that this Wednesday's strike has registered a follow-up in the health institutions of the Canarian Health Service (SCS) of 13.3% of the workers of this professional group, in the whole of the Primary Care and Hospital areas.

Of the 7,083 personnel called to the strike, 4,510 were affected by this call, of whom 600 supported it.

Regarding the follow-up by health areas in Gran Canaria, 294 of the 1,842 affected personnel supported it, which represents 15.96%, while in Tenerife the follow-up was 276 of the 2,145, that is, 12.87%. For its part, in Lanzarote, 32 of the 255 professionals affected by the strike have supported the stoppage, 12.555, in Fuerteventura, eight of the 297 affected supported it, that is, 2.69%. For its part, in La Palma the follow-up was 3.73%, since six of the 161 affected went on strike and in El Hierro one of the five affected professionals went on strike, that is, 20%. For its part, in La Gomera there were no personnel on strike.

The morning shift of this Wednesday, which has 1,252 personnel on minimum services, has passed without notable incidents.
