A dolphin specimen appeared dead this Sunday morning on Guacimeta beach, in Playa Honda. The volunteer firefighters of Lanzarote helped in its transfer to a rescue vehicle. Wildlife Collection personnel also participated in the collection of the cetacean.
According to the protocol for strandings in Canary waters, after its removal from the coast, a necropsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
It is not the first time that this type of mammal has appeared stranded on the Canary coasts, since our waters are the habitat of many of these mammals.
