The Uga Market returned last weekend. After the investment of "70 thousand euros" by the Yaiza City Council, the market opened its doors to offer "a variety of consumer items." Among the foods offered were "derivatives of agriculture and fishing, such as meats and cheeses, and also artisanal transformation products, such as jams, gofio, liqueurs and pastries." The market will open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, thanked this Saturday at the opening ceremony of the market for the return of this activity in Uga "to promote agriculture, livestock and the artisan sector and satisfy the demands of customers who prefer zero kilometer products, being at the same time a productive activity that revitalizes the town of Uga.”

The Councilor for the Primary Sector of Yaiza, Fátima Viñoly, highlights that she is "convinced that the start-up of the market means a great boost to the productive fabric of the municipality, offering residents a differentiated and sensitive format that respects and integrates the customs of a society that evolves in its time, valuing and preserving its traditions.”

"The young people from the Yaiza School of Music, directed by Clotildo Martín, the El Golpito band and the Expecta Band and Sondemar groups enlivened the weekend in the square, where southern families and visitors could enjoy, together with the little ones, workshops, an ecological garden and painted fabrics", conclude from the City Council.
