Firefighters rescued a woman this Monday, October 27, who had been trapped in an elevator in a building in Arrecife, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The incident took place around 1:00 p.m. in an apartment on Antonio Nieves Santos street in the capital of Lanzarote. After CECOES was alerted, agents from the Local Police, firefighters, and an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service were dispatched.
Once in the building, the emergency services personnel confirmed that the door on the floor where the elevator was located could not be opened, so they cut off the power and manually raised it from the control box to another floor. Once on that floor, the firefighters opened the door and got the woman out.
