The Civil Guard arrested this Wednesday, May 27, one of the visitors to the center for carrying 18.5 grams of a substance, presumably cocaine, in one of the authorized visits with her sentimental partner, interned in this establishment.
The Officials of the Communications Department of the Arrecife Penitentiary Establishment, in collaboration with the Canine Unit of the Civil Guard, carried out this habitual intervention where these substances were discovered.
After stating to the Penitentiary Officials and the Civil Guard present that she had tried to introduce them at the request of the inmate, she was arrested by members of the Armed Institute and taken to the premises to instruct the corresponding proceedings for her arrest.
This intervention is framed within the scope of habitual collaboration signed by Penitentiary Institutions in Lanzarote with both the Civil Guard and the Local Police of the Tías City Council, who, pending the final steps for the launch of the new Canine Unit of Penitentiary Institutions in Lanzarote, selflessly transfer their cynological and human resources, within a policy of "Zero Tolerance" to drugs inside the country's prisons.
