A car has gone off the road and hit a palm tree on the LZ3, the Arrecife highway.

The firefighters from the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote and La Graciosa received the alert from the Civil Guard of Traffic on Thursday morning, around 8:20 a.m., to disconnect the vehicle's battery and clean the road.

Once at the scene, they proceeded to disconnect the battery and considered the service finished. When they arrived at the accident site, the agents of the armed institute were no longer there because they had been alerted to another traffic accident.

PAS Conduct in Traffic Accidents

The General Directorate of Traffic reminds that when an emergency occurs, it is necessary to follow the PAS conduct (for the acronyms Protect, Alert, and Succor).

A procedure that states that the first thing is the protection of the people involved to prevent further accidents, by finding a safe place off the road, turning off the vehicle, applying the handbrake and hazard lights, as well as using the reflective vest to exit the vehicle. After that, emergency services (112) must be alerted and, finally, and only if one has knowledge of the appropriate techniques, the other people involved will be helped.
