Agents of the National Police have arrested in Arrecife two men aged 31 and 42 years old, originally from Guinea Bissau, as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. The arrested arrived in Lanzarote on a flight from Madrid, carrying inside their body 169 capsules with a total of 1,960 grams of cocaine.

As explained by the police force, the devices had been intensified at the airport, after last January they detected three other "mules", who were arrested after confirming that they were carrying drugs inside their bodies.

In one of those new devices, developed on February 2, they located these two men, one of them with 1,180 grams of cocaine and the other with 780.

Once all the formalities were completed, both were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health.

After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered their imprisonment.
