The National Police has arrested two men in Arrecife, aged 44 and 51, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of damages, accused of causing two fires. Both had police records. The events occurred during the past month of March in different streets of the capital of Lanzarote and resulted in two burned vehicles and the burning of several containers, according to the Body in a press release.
One of the incidents caused damage to two vehicles in Malagueña street and the other the burning of two containers, which also affected a parked vehicle, in Aires de Lima street.
On the day of the robbery, the arrested person took possession of the vehicle's keys, which he used at the time of the fire to steal the music device and later cause the fire. The victim informed the agents that he had been threatened and intimidated by the detainee for having reported him.
The detainee as the alleged perpetrator of the fire perpetrated in Malagueña street, where two vehicles were involved, had been reported weeks before, for a crime of robbery with violence, by the owner of one of the burned vehicles.
After the investigation carried out by the agents of the National Police, the identification of the alleged perpetrators of the fires was achieved. Both, after being located in the capital of Lanzarote, were arrested accused of an alleged crime of damages.
In the case of the fire of the two containers in Aires de Lima street, the agents proceeded to the identification of the alleged perpetrator who turned out to be a known criminal in the area. The detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
