Firefighters have extinguished two fires involving seven containers in Arrecife. According to the Emergency Consortium, the first fire took place at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Friday on Guatisea Street, and the second occurred on Aires de Lima Street at 4:25 a.m. this Saturday.
Regarding the first incident, firefighters were alerted by CECOES to a fire in a container of organic waste. Once at the scene, they confirmed that it was burning completely, and the flames were also affecting another glass recycling container.
Subsequently, firefighters proceeded to extinguish the fire with water, but both waste containers were rendered unusable.
Hours later, at 4:25 a.m. this Saturday, firefighters were again alerted to another container fire. Upon arrival, they found that five of them were burning, and the fire was also affecting three nearby vehicles.
Of the five containers that burned, the Emergency Consortium has reported that three have been totally destroyed, and the other two, although partially burned, have been rendered unusable.
