Two people have been injured after the car they were traveling in ran off the road and overturned several times near Playa Blanca, according to the Emergency Consortium.
The accident took place at approximately 10:45 this Friday on the road that connects Femés and the tourist town of Playa Blanca in the municipality of Yaiza. Once alerted, firefighters, local police and two ambulances from the Canary Emergency Service went to the scene.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle, so he had to be released by the firefighters, who took him out through the back gate with the spinal board. He was later transferred to the ambulance and finally evacuated to the Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife.
The companion was able to get out of the car on her own and was treated at the scene by the health personnel.
The Local Police was in charge of carrying out the corresponding report.
