Emerlan rescued a boat in distress two miles from El Golfo last Saturday. The service was provided around 2:25 p.m. and lasted until 8:00 p.m., in the direction of Punta Gaviota, according to Emerlan.

Alerted by the CECOES, the emergency teams went to the area to tow the boat to port. Once on the scene, when they verified that the boat was close to shore and at risk of running aground, they made a safe approach and established the tow.

Immediately afterwards, they started towing to the port of Playa Blanca and verified that the two crew members of the boat were in good health.

According to Emerlan, their action was due to the fact that Maritime Rescue was overwhelmed by the arrival of irregular boats during the weekend.

The Rescue and Emergency Service in Lanzarote revealed that "this type of intervention, given the distance and the difficulties of the tow, pushes our operational capacity to the limit."
