Two adults and two children, ages 2 and 4, were injured in a traffic accident this Monday afternoon on the Puerto del Carmen road, the LZ-40. The two vehicles in which these four people were traveling collided head-on, causing them minor or less serious injuries. All of them have been transferred by ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife.

The Coordinating Center for Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands was alerted at 4:30 p.m. that there had been a "head-on collision" on this road, shortly before reaching Rancho Texas, and then dispatched two ambulances to the area. Upon arrival, medical personnel were able to verify that four people, two minors and two adults, had been injured in the collision. According to 112, at the time of that first assistance none of them presented serious injuries.

The two minors were traveling in the same vehicle. One of them has suffered a less serious facial trauma, while the other has been diagnosed with mild cervicalgia. The adult who was with them in the car has also suffered mild cervicalgia. As for the adult who was in the other car, the accident has caused him a less serious chest trauma.

This collision has left significant retentions on the LZ-40 during the afternoon. According to several drivers to La Voz, traffic has slowed down and at times has even stopped in both directions, for at least an hour. In addition to the ambulances, the firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium have also come to the scene, and after verifying that none of the injured had been trapped in the vehicles, they have been in charge of cleaning the road. Traffic agents of the Civil Guard have also come to the area.
