Three arrested for trying to introduce drugs hidden in a car in Arrecife

After an exhaustive inspection, five packages of cocaine, almost 6,000 euros in cash, a revolver with live ammunition, among others, have been located.

Arrests Made for Attempting to Smuggle Drugs in a Car in Arrecife

Agents of the National Police of Arrecife have arrested three men between 31 and 40 years of age, with police records, as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking and criminal organization offense.

The Agents carried out a device in order to intercept the vehicle that supposedly transported the drug. In which they discovered two of the arrested waiting at the Mármoles dock to supervise the arrival of the merchandise. The third involved, traveled with the vehicle from Cádiz.

Once the ship docked at the pier, they proceeded to intercept it and also to arrest both the driver and the other two involved, who were waiting. Already in police units after carrying out an exhaustive inspection of the vehicle, they were located, in a compartment in the rear bumper, five packages of cocaine with a total weight of 5,800 grams.

In addition, three home searches were carried out, two in Arrecife and another in Alcorcón, in Madrid, where one of the three detainees resided. During these searches, another 600 grams of cocaine, almost 6,000 euros in cash, a revolver with live ammunition, two simulated weapons and a hydraulic press were seized. In addition, two vehicles and high-value jewelry were seized in the operation.

Two of the detainees have immediately entered prison, after being placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority. The actions were directed by the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Arrecife, in coordination with the Anti-Drug Prosecutor's Office of Lanzarote.
