Agents of the National Police have culminated an operation initiated in January 2025 in mid-May, with the arrest of three people as alleged perpetrators of crimes of inducing a minor to abandon their home, inducing prostitution, and sexual assault of a minor.
The investigation began following the disappearance of a 14-year-old minor from a supervised center in Arrecife, remaining missing for several months until she was located by agents of the UFAM in Puerto del Carmen.
Once located, the minor told the agents that she was afraid and that she believed she might be pregnant, also indicating that she had had relations with adults in exchange for money and other items, expressing her desire to leave the island.
The agents immediately took the minor to a hospital center to check her health status and initiated various investigative steps regarding the events she reported.
The investigations made it possible to determine that the minor had been residing in an occupied dwelling in Puerto del Carmen with several people who had allegedly taken over other properties in the same development.
Specifically, she slept with a 57-year-old woman, who was also arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of inducing a minor to abandon their home.
The investigation carried out by the UFAM made it possible to prove that the minor had had sexual relations with several adults in exchange for money and other items, as she herself reported and as was reflected in the analysis of the intercepted phone terminals.
As a result of the inquiries, the agents proceeded to arrest two males for an alleged crime of inducing prostitution, also charging one of them with a crime of sexual assault.
All the proceedings carried out were sent to the competent judicial authority, who ordered the pre-trial detention of the main investigated person and the imposition of precautionary measures for the other two arrested individuals.
