The Rescue and Emergency service of Lanzarote (Emerlan) rescued on Saturday two crew members of a jet ski who fell into the sea while the jet ski continued sailing without control.
According to Emerlan, the jet ski continued running because "they did not have the man overboard system correctly installed," a mechanism that connects the driver's vest to the vehicle so that it stops if the crew member suffers a fall.
Emerlan assisted the boat that was adrift. The jet ski was towed and safely transferred to the port.
During the approach maneuver, a sailor from the GES-EMERLAN boat jumped onto the jet ski and took command, later returning it to its crew members.
