A palm tree suffered an attempted fire this Saturday night in Puerto del Carmen, according to the Consortium. The palm tree was located on Chalana street in the tourist town.
Once alerted by the CECOES, agents of the Local Police, Civil Protection, Volunteer Firefighters and the Emergency Consortium moved to the scene.
The volunteer firefighters extinguished the fire with sprayed and jetted water to the top of the palm tree. Subsequently, the Consortium troops arrived and with the help of the auto ladder went up to the top to be able to extinguish from the top. In addition, they had to cut about six branches to be able to access better.
