The Zonzamas landfill suffered a minor fire this Sunday. Smoke began to come out of the sludge ponds around 5:00 p.m., although it was resolved in a few minutes.
The complex's shovel operator quickly went to put out the small flames that were coming out of the area, covering them with earth. According to the Lanzarote Council, this incident was resolved "in five minutes".
Therefore, the intervention of the firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote was not necessary.
