The storm has already reached Lanzarote since this Wednesday morning, especially by sea, where it has left the first incidents. At around 12 noon, a small boat was adrift in the fishing port dock, and the same scene was repeated later in Puerto Calero. In this second case, it was a sailboat that went against the rocks, with two crew members inside.
Emerlan personnel went to the scene and, according to them, helped evacuate the occupants of the boat, a man and a woman, by land. Members of the fire department also went to the area and the Monk Seal rescue boat, to try to return the yacht to port.
In Arrecife, the firefighters have also gone to the fishing dock, although when they arrived they had already managed to moor the boat again, which would have suffered some damage to the hull.
Emergency plan activated
Meanwhile, the Cabildo has activated the alert for adverse weather phenomena, as the situation is expected to worsen from this Wednesday afternoon with the arrival of heavy rains. From this Wednesday and at least until next Friday, the yellow warning for risk of rain and storms is active in Lanzarote.
Given this situation, from the Security and Emergency Consortium they have told La Voz that it has been decided to suspend the extracurricular activities that were planned for this Wednesday afternoon and also for Thursday, to avoid possible risks with outdoor activities.
