The private prosecution, the Prosecutor's Office and the State Attorney's Office consider that the accused of having murdered his partner on October 12, 2011 in Puerto del Carmen also desecrated her corpse, according to the Efe agency. This Tuesday, the Senegalese Mor Ndao has made his final plea in the trial held in the Arrecife Courts and has assured that he is ready to pay his sentence with "dignity".
The lawyer for the private prosecution, who is asking for 25 years in prison for the confessed murderer, already pointed out the possibility that the accused desecrated the young woman's corpse on Monday during the first session of the trial. In it, she accused the detainee of having vaginally penetrated the corpse of his partner, after having killed her by strangling her with a clothesline cable.
In the second session of the trial, both the Prosecutor's Office and the State Attorney's Office, who were asking for 18 years in prison, agreed with the lawyer, so they have requested five more months in prison for the accused.
According to the Efe agency, the accounts of the three accusations prove that Mor Ndao "waited for his partner to arrive home in the middle of the night, wrapped a cable he had prepared around her neck and pulled it until he ended her life, causing her great suffering." Subsequently, he moved the body of Mara Seighelli, the 36-year-old Italian woman to her bedroom, where "he vaginally penetrated her, even ejaculating inside her."
On the contrary, the court-appointed lawyer defending the accused has stated during the trial that it has not been proven that his client had sexual intercourse with his partner once she was dead.
The couple's young daughter, only a year and a half old, was asleep at home when the events occurred. The accused surrendered hours later at the Civil Guard station.
This trial has been held for the first time in Lanzarote with a jury, which now has to deliberate to give its verdict.
