The National Police Commissioner of Arrecife, José Luis Gutiérrez, tested positive in a breathalyzer test conducted by the Local Police in the early hours of Saturday, October 11, at the exit of the municipality, as La Voz has learned through police sources.

The commissioner was traveling in a Mitsubishi vehicle accompanied by two other people who do not belong to the force. In the first breathalyzer test, he showed a rate of 0.59 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air, and in the second, he reached 0.62.

After the positive result was confirmed, the vehicle had to be immobilized as there was no qualified driver, or a National Police officer had to take charge. Finally, a chief inspector went to the scene and took charge of the car.

### Fine and disciplinary measures

José Luis Gutiérrez was reported and given the corresponding fine for the administrative infraction. In addition, the Superior Headquarters of the National Police is waiting to determine the disciplinary measures that will be applied to him within the internal regime, since the events could constitute a serious or very serious offense.
