The electrical failure suffered at the Open Mall Shopping Center in Arrecife last week has forced the closure of part of the establishment for several days.

The space had to be evacuated last Thursday, May 22, due to a fire that originated in the electricity distribution center of the north wing of the space, according to the manager of the Consortium, Enrique Espinosa.

After smoke was detected in several stores on the premises, firefighters from the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, agents from the Local Police, and the National Police went to the scene.

Since then, this commercial space has been partially open to the public. Thus, only some establishments, around twenty, have continued to offer sales to the public, while others have had to lower their gates until the problem is solved.

As La Voz has learned, workers are working this Monday, four days after the incident, to try to solve the electrical failure and be able to reopen the affected premises.
