The Open Mall shopping center has been evacuated this Thursday afternoon, May 22, after smoke was detected in several stores on the premises. The alert occurred around 6:00 p.m., at which time Local Police and Firefighters from the Emergency Consortium were mobilized.
According to the manager of the Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, "the fire originated in the electricity distribution center of the north wing of the shopping center." As a preventive measure, the entire premises was evacuated while emergency teams proceeded to inspect premises by premises to ensure that everything is in safe condition before allowing reopening.
