The person under investigation for the multiple hit-and-run in Playa Blanca in which a five-month-old baby died remains on provisional release. This has been confirmed by the Court's Communication Office to La Voz. This citizen has not yet testified either.

It should be remembered that the Investigating Court number one, which is investigating the case, summoned the investigated party to testify on March 14, but she was unable to do so because she suffered a nervous breakdown and was not in a condition to testify, according to a forensic doctor. It was then reported that she would testify on a future date, but there is still no news.

Since then, the judge has released her on bail as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of reckless homicide (culpable, not intentional) and another of driving under the influence of alcohol, toxic drugs, narcotics or psychotropic substances (379.2 of the Criminal Code). This provisional release measure was agreed in accordance with the position of the Public Prosecutor's Office, which did not request pre-trial detention.

Therefore, the driver must sign on the 1st and 15th of each month, as well as the withdrawal of her passport and the prohibition to leave the national territory.

The multiple hit-and-run occurred on Monday afternoon and ended the life of a five-month-old baby. In addition, six other people were injured and remain hospitalized since then. Two of them in the Intensive Care Unit. Among them, the parents of the newborn and her maternal grandparents.
