The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Costa Teguise arrested on January 20 a male with initials F.S.M.D. - a resident of the municipality of Arrecife with a criminal record - as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of fraud, for receiving 980 euros as payment for the rent of a property that was later found to be a fake advertisement.

The victim believed he was renting a property with his sister through a bank transfer last November, from Murcia, which he saw on www.milanuncios.com, and which was supposedly located in the town of Playa Honda at a price of 480 euros per month, plus 500 euros as a reservation fee. When the victim moved to Lanzarote, he finally found that the person - with whom they had contacted via WhatsApp to process the rental - blocked both him and his sister-in-law, cutting off all contact and making it impossible to locate him.

The investigation began as a result of the victim's subsequent complaint, who told the agents what happened, providing details that served as a basis, which, together with subsequent police investigations, allowed the identification of the alleged perpetrator of the fraud, residing on the island.

Finally, the agents of the Investigation Area of the aforementioned Main Post located F.S.M.D., who allegedly received the amount of money as rent and deposit for a fake property, and who was arrested on the 20th as the alleged perpetrator of the aforementioned crime, being placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court, on duty, of the town of Arrecife.
